I have to say that you very well may not find something easier. Book Designer is not always easier. The book I posted about Shakespeare I could not have formatted in Book Designer not without a LOT of work. Granted the format is not perfect. But it's pretty darn good given the original HTML. And all I used was one simple command using html2lrf. I gave it the options, the name of the HTML file and voila, a book was born in LRF.

Good luck finding something that will always be easier. As far as I'm concerned, the right tool for the job. Book Designer and libprs500 both have their uses. and I use the right tool for the job at hand. I feel sorry for you that you will not use libprs500 because you got confused and didn't understand and even after we told you what's what you still got pissed because the GUI you saw was not what you expected.
