Okay, so, the
Brenthaven Edge Sleeve ... isn't what I'd call a sleeve. It's sort of a compact case. Very nicely reinforced and padded, too. Not what I expected but still very nice.
It really is well padded -- front, back, and all four sides. Which caused a bit of a problem: the eDGe wouldn't fit. Removing the padding from the top (slit the stitches, slide the foam out) corrected that problem and now it's an exact snug fit for the eDGe, sans extra shock absorption at the top.
The power supply & everything else fit (barely) in the front zipped pocket. There's an extra pocket in the back of the "sleeve" that can accept a thin notepad, misc papers, and so on. An extra battery would fit fine there. It has a velcro fastener so things won't accidentally bounce out.
I'm not sure of the functionality of opening up the eDGe while still in the case, as in the first pic. Doodle while watching a video? Obviously it was intended for a netbook and the keyboard would be the part laying flat.
All-in-all not a bad item for $24, if it suits your needs. It's not quite what I wanted but I'll stick with it for now.
