I used to read on stanza and bookshelf but with the latest update of the bookshelf app (epub and mobi support now works on 100% of my books, dropbox support and iPad update) i was able to give stanza the kick. So maybe you should just jump to bookshelf too and leave stanza behind.
bookshelf was 3.99 $ i think or around that ...
