It is definitely not identical, and there are significant differences under the hood besides the cosmetic differences mentioned by many responses here. One caveat though, the 20100330 firmware is just an experimental build from Buggins for testing some new features in CoolReader, so it is NOT Lbook supported firmware. It is also a work in progress, and does have some features that are not functioning yet. That being said, the 20100330 firmware has a new Linux kernel and the very latest version of CoolReader. It also contains the same old Adobe software for EPUB and PDF, with TTS.

That is actually only partially true. Processor clock speed will affect all operations linearly, but software design and compiler optimizations also can have a very significant effect on speed of operation.

For me it is the advances that are being made in the design and function of CoolReader, enhanced font functions, and the file handling capabilities of the bookshelf application.
