What he calls a "pole shift" and what I call a "pole shift" are two different things. What I call a "pole shift" is a shift in the poles. Meaning a flipping over of the axis of rotation of the planet. Continental drift (even relatively quick continental drift) doesn't shift the poles, it just shifts surface features (a very thin skin compared to the thickness of the Earth) relative to the poles.
