Greetings from Staten Island, New York

Well, this looks like fun. I have gone through four ebook readers over the years: The Franklin, The RCA REB-1100 (I don't remember if that number was 1100 or something kind of like 1100), the Sony PRS-500 (the first Sony reader, not sure of that number either), and now the Sony Pocket Reader.

It's been a peculiar road, I like having all my books with me, but of course as things continue to change, I have to change with them. Lost a lot of ebooks when RCA's Gemstar thing went down in flames. Had them on the reader flash card, then their network went down, then the book itself crashed. Lots of books, but nothing left to read them on.

On the other hand, nice to see that libraries are lending ebooks now.

I've also reached the point where large print is a major factor in my life. As a kid, I used to laugh at that big "E" on the top of the eye chart. "What kind of geezer needs that big old 'E' up there?" I wondered. Well, now I'm that geezer. Without my glasses, can't read anything but that E. All those little letters on the eye chart, and that big old letter 'E' is my only remaining friend.

Well, that's my story so far. See you round.
