This is what I hate about paperbacks. Reading a book is supposed to be an enjoyment and relaxation. I don't want to split my attention between following story line and worrying about "if I open a book just a little bit more so I can see the text better, then I leave a crease on its pine".
I don't know what books you are reading, but I used to read Wheel of Time, paper back editions. 800-900-1000 pages. How can you open it "only enough to read the pages" and not leave creases on its spine at the same time feel very comfortable when reading, I don't know
