Oh I agree. I suspect the only price change with the 2nd gen will be the 16 GB model will probably go away and the 32 GB is $500.

So for me to buy, they'll have to address the issues I have with it. That's more important to me than price. If they fix my issues, I'll pay $500 for one.

For instance, I never bought iPods as they cost more and lacked FM tuners which I needed. They finally added an FM tuner in the 5th gen Nano, and I finally bought one for $134 from Best Buy a couple months when I needed a new flash based player for the gym etc. I could have got something cheaper, but once they added FM I was willing to pay a bit more for the form factor, ease of synching pod casts etc. Hopefully the iPod will add some of the stuff I need, as I do doubt other companies will match the form factor, responsivity, battery life etc in the near future.

If they don't fix the problems I have, I'll wait until something comes out that fits my needs at the same or lower price. I'm very patient on tablets as they're something I have an interest in, but not a "must have it now" device that tempts me to early adopt and work around shortcomings in early models.
