I would start by leaving it plugged in for at least 8 hours. The PEz doesn't work well with a low battery. I wouldn't even consider updating the firmware unless the PEz is fully charged. We've been told that a PEz runing out of juice in the middle of a firmware upgrade is a really bad thing. After it's fully charged, try pushing the reset button and turning the device on and off.
