I always hear cat scratch fever referenced but have been told it actually isn't real

edit: and a quick check as I haven't thought of or heard of it in years, shows that the only thing that can be truly associated with "cat scratch fever" is something very similar to tick fever; fever, aches and swelling, along with occasional (and temporary) swelling of the lymph nodes. I think the F.I.L. was suffering from something else
