Ebook newbie! Help!

Hi everyone! I'm an avid reader and new to ebooks and am contemplating which reader to buy. I'm thinking of either a Sony, or Iriver story.

My friend has an ereader and she loves it! She has some books from PG that I'd like.
Have any of you got either reader, and if so are they a case of drag and drop the files like an MP3 player? I've been reading up on them but can't get my head around some of the technology.
I'm completely new to this so any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
