I read that when I was a teenager. I live within an hour's drive of where he lived in Virginia Beach, and well remember his prophecy that Atlantis would rise off-shore of Virginia Beach in 1968. There was quite a lot of excitement around here during that time; people even drove around with bumper-stickers on their cars that read, "Atlantis is Rising, Virginia Beach, Virginia."

I suppose it rose it 1968 as predicted, but I missed it because I was out of town that year.
