On the other hand, muggers do NOT attack people who are out walking their elephants.
You can make very nice gift wrapping paper out of their dung. (Actually, you can make a LOT of very nice gift wrapping paper...) It sells at high price in Malaysia and Thailand.
They are very handy for moving trees.
Maybe you should consider trying out an elephant...

you do make a good point. perhaps i should consider trying out an elephant. some advantages that come instantly to mind : probably it would "enlarge" the stairwell the first time i took it upstairs (i don't think it could fit otherwise), which would make things a lot easier for me when i come home with the groceries. and i bet it could help me put a larger window in the kitchen as well. and if the upstairs or downstairs neighbors are being too loud, it could just stick its trunk out the window and tap on *their* window to tell them to keep it down.
