I voted "Pay higher prices for most books but lower prices for some" because, while I agree with many people here that this new pricing structure will mean I'll be buying far fewer ebooks, those ebooks that I do buy will probably cost me more than what they used to cost me, especially because I've been buying almost exclusively from Fictionwise, and what with the Buywise club (now gone) and the micropay rebates (also gone on any big 5 books), I was probably paying between $3-4 per ebook (for something currently out in paperback). Based on what I've been seeing, it looks like that cost is likely to go up to $5-7 per ebook. I could be wrong, but that seems to be the general trend on Amazon, B&N.com, and Sony's Reader store. I'll be interested to see how everything ends up shaking down, but I think it's going to be a year or more before we really get to anything approaching a fair pricing system.
