Yes, except it won't install automatically, you'll see an installer that will guide you through the process.
Don't forget to remove card/installer from the card after it reboots, if you don't want to see the PRS+ installer again.

No worries, 505/500/300 models are rock solid. You can't brick them into unbrickable state, unless if you don't use hammer/crack it up and solder a bit, etc...
