I'm biased though as I've always found netbooks completely pointless. I will always have a laptop as I don't like having a desktop at home. That and being a professor most universities give us desktops for the office and laptops for home.

I have a desktop (Dual screen ) at home that I use for my hardcore tasks. I have no laptop, so the netbook is my laptop. And its a great laptop for me. I am not really doing any dvd ripping, or running handbrake on it, but it weighs 3 lbs and is really nice to take back and forth to places. I can see myself taking my ipad in place of my netbook sometimes, but while traveling I will allways have my netbook around.
