I don't think netbooks will die, but I do think tablet's market may shrink.
I'm biased though as I've always found netbooks completely pointless. I will always have a laptop as I don't like having a desktop at home. That and being a professor most universities give us desktops for the office and laptops for home.
So I just have no need for a smaller laptop with a small keyboard that's harder to type on, and that lacks power to run my statistical analyses, stream HD video and all the other stuff I do on my laptop that requires full computing power.
So I just have no need. But I do have a need for a tablet to use as a reader, document mark up tool, stream video in bed (as opposed to my hot laptop), surfing the net on the couch (like doing that on the iPad more than on my laptop) etc.
So I think netbooks will stick around as some just need a tiny laptop for light computing tasks that is easier to carry around than a laptop top. But Netbooks have never fit any of my personal needs.
