Netbooks are dead. Tablets/pads will kill them pretty quick. I got the very first netbook (Asus 701) when it came out three years ago. The whole netbook thing is a short lived fad. Of course there will remain a few in the market place, but their 15 minutes of fame is over. The only reason I keep mine is it is what I use to sync my iPad, wife's iPad, and my iPhone to. My desktop is "business only", for me that's music creation and Photoshop, so I don't want iTunes or games and such cluttering it up.....
Also (to show how really bizarre I am) I run Windows 7 Starter on my Gateway netbook and home made desktop.....and love it! Starter does just the things I need, nothing more. I tweaked it a bit, and it is faster and more stable than XP ever was........ sorry for the completely off topic......
