Found the handy button on the back.

And somehow the Ethernet connection had gotten turned off in Network Connections, and then my firewall was blocking it. But I got my Zod to hotsync over wireless for the first time tonight, so that's progress. I've still got something messed up a bit - I have to unplug the ethernet cable to the router before my modem will dial.
P.S. Got my n800 talking to the Calibre server
finally. And high time too, I was seriously considering a Droid. But this puts the iPod Touch back in the running for me as a PDA/reading/game device; I could always live with my current phone a while longer.
