I'm lucky and not very many of my regularly browsed sites use flash--which surprised me. But I guess it shouldn't as I'm not much of a techie so my web browsing is very basic. News sites, a couple forums, and streaming video is about all I use. Along with google scholar and my university library website for finding articles.
So it's not a deal breaker to me like it is to you and others.
I'd prefer to have Flash for sure, but I could deal with lack of Flash if the Android and other tablets can't match the form factor (thinness, no heavier etc.), battery life and ease of use (pinch zoom etc.).
But I do hope something matches the iPad in all those areas, adds Flash, a file management system with straight drag and drop in windows etc.
But at the end of the day the slickness of the UI, the battery life and form factor etc. are more important to me as the other things are annoyances that I could mostly work around on the iPad (though I'd prefer not to have to work around them).
In any case, I'm willing to wait until late this year, early next year to make a purchase so I can see what other tablets come out, what's rumored to come in the 2nd gen iPads, see if Apps fix some of my gripes with the iPad etc.

Very similiar to my outlook except i figure I will buy an iPad now and then sell it for a loss of a $100 or maybe $150 to buy the 'perfect' device but have then had it for 12 months.
