gah !!! stop it, you're making my skin crawl, pretty soon it's going to crawl right out the door.
i actually once was dragged to a crab-eating party by an insensitive and inconsiderate friend. i spent the entire time on a chair as far away from the table as possible, hiding my eyes behind my hand. it may surprise you to know that the hardest part for me to bear was the compassion i felt for the poor crabs, and not the revulsion and disgust you might expect.
i nonetheless tried to put on a brave face about it and pretended i wasn't the least bothered.
i'm not sure i'd be willing to do that anymore.
