Do you just just read (meaning looking at the pictures) about the art of French cooking or you carry on all the assignments?

The "old stuff" I am thinking about is translated in English and we have it on MR. And it is much easier to read than the ancient Greek stuff you were promoting before. Let me give you an excerpt.

... Emulation is pain caused by seeing the presence, in persons whose nature is like our own, of good things that are highly valued and are possible for ourselves to acquire; but it is felt not because others have these goods, but because we have not got them ourselves.
