Gee, how many people spend a lot of time at the beach reading, most of my reading is at night, or in a dark room.

In fact, you would have to be either very brave or very foolish to bring a 500 dollar high tech device to the beach, the sand and other elements would ruin this device.
It is interesting how many companies and users have justified reflective screens by talking about reading at the beach.

I guess I could take an ebook reader to the beach and use it to get attention, but I doubt I would actually read there. There are often much more pleasant things to look at than an E-Ink screen. Some of them are almost as slow though.
