I don't have to much problem with the ads IF (and it's a big IF) it leads to cheaper apps from developers (or more free apps) since they're (and apple) are getting ad revenue on the 60/40 split.

I'll put up with some ads, especially in free aps. I don't want ads in a $10 ap, but in a free app, or a $1-2 app--I can deal with it as long as they aren't too intrusive.

Some apps already have adds. I had some Chase Saphire credit card ads I had to skip to get to articles in the NY Times app when reading it on my g/f's iPad this morning. No biggie as it's just click skip and it's gone, not really more hassle than flipping past a full page add in a print newspaper.

If these ads are no more annoying than that and aren't things like unskippable 30 second video ads etc., I could deal with them in free and cheap apps personally.

Especially for Apps I wouldn't use all that often (just every now in then). I'd prefer a free or very cheap app with ads over a $5 app without ads personally.

But again, that's all on the very big "if", assuming that ads don't become widespread in apps of all price ranges.
