he only goes up the trees a little way, I had him in a harness the entire time. he's not real keen on the BOOMs, but then again the dog isn't either. I would tie them in the tent when I was shooting. it was a sorely needed break as I haven't been able to ski this season and I got a LOT of snow! that always helps my attitude!
