It's exactly the same hardware.
Onyx is the manufacturer, BeBook is using a (slightly) modified firmware.
You can interchange firmware without any problems.
Meaning: You can buy whatever's easier or cheaper to get. And then flash whatever firmware you want (back and forth, you can try both).
I slightly prefer the BeBook firmware because of the direct link to the bookstores instead of browsing them manually.
But it's a hassle to purchase books on the reader anyway. So it was more of a "I had to try it once to see whether it's working" thing. BTW: It IS working. You even can activate DRMed eBooks directly on the reader.
But still it's way more convenient to purchase on nook or Kindle via their dedicated bookstores, than using the browser on BeBook/Onyx. But it's great to have WiFi.
