Bottom line: reading on the iPad is hands down the best ereading experience I have had. I find so far I prefer the iBooks app, mainly due to the horizontal dual page presentation.

The weight is an issue, and I do not anticipate getting rid of my PRS 700 for a portable read. But for at home reading, the iPad is superb. The additional functionality is just extremely tasty icing on the cake.

* I've only "purchased" (it'ls free) the pooh book from apple, all the other books on the iBooks app are dedrm'd epubs from various sources.

I hope that kindle and kobo will keep working on their apps, then dual page view rocks!
