If you have read throughout the iPad threads you would find that the iPad does not heat at all inside a building it heats up in direct sunshine when it's over 85F.
It's also been confirmed in that other forum I follow. Ipad Forums.net.
As for the Wifi issue, some people get problems but most don't. One guy got problems right next to his wifi router and those problems disappeared when he went higher up a floor in his house. Go figure.
Many of the problems came out of improper wifi setup. But one thing that is sure is that if you use Apple's router everything's cool. Ain't that familiar?
