The only option left I would have would be to convert the file to html, and then convert the html to epub, it would have all the preserved formulas, but it wouldn't as good as a pdf.
Also the device would let me skip to a page number, what's up with that?

I'm pretty sure the Nook display's the pdf without reflow if you set the font size to small, but reflows it in any other size.
