Congratulations to your ipad, i from europe can't wait to get one myself.
As to epub import, you can drag and drop your complete ebook folder (as long as it contains epubs) into itunes, and all epubs are in the book section.
I tested it with itunes 9.1 myself. Unfortunatly thats about all i can do for now
