The store opened at 10. They were going to be selling 1460 pairs, and limiting it to one pair per person. I got there at 12:15 (had to go in my lunch) - the queue outside was incredible - by about 12:45 we'd moved just one storefront along, with another two to go, and around 50-60 people ahead of us (it was hard to count, as people were mostly in clusters). Someone from the store came out not much after that to say they were down to 24 pairs left. They had sold nearly 1460 pairs of boots (plus, presumably, some other boots and shoes not on offer) in under three hours!
