The list is very long (I have a lot of books) and I never get the chance to easily jump to the Authors section. Is there a way to get the same function on my eReader that I get on my PC i.e. being able to open and close the subheadings so that I can see all four on the screen at once and select the one I want to delve into?

I see you're using an iRex, does it have a Table of Contents page selection like your 505? I know I didn't realize my 505 had a Table of Contents selection until I created a catalog. See item 5 on the attached image. If you can find this area on your iRex you'll be happy with the way you can jump around the catalog.
