Hard and Smooth.
I did not replace mine with another unit because it Worked very well for what I wanted. IMHO Tools are made to be used, not show pieces
I read 3-5 books a week. It gets well used
The only thing I would consider replacing it with would be a if
Astak made a similar unit with "Tall Screen" (9:16 Aspect as wide as the 5", better the 6"., the same aspect as a MMPB printed text)
