People here have used the term "Painted" with a very broad brush.


All 5" PEz are Coated with a translucent, non-slip coating of a similar color of the Base Plastic (there were reports of a few early release units that were color painted before coating. That may have been done with Battery cover door ONLY). My early issue Slate Blue is Slate Blue Plastic.

My coating/case was in the first lot.
Mine peeled (blue-green bits) badly. I removed all the coating .
I now have a shiny (nude) Slate Blue Pocket EZ.
The numbers are wearing off.
It is still BLUE.
