that is really despicable. it's another reason i am really glad health insurance doesn't work that way here. companies do play games to avoid spending money, like taking on new interns every 3 months or so (an internship can be unpaid if it's 3 months or less ; longer, and you have to pay a little bit), but that doesn't affect your health coverage. it's absolutely scandalous what companies will do to avoid their obligations, and respecting basic human decency.
