Here, depending on the ******* place you work for, it takes between 3 to 6 months before you get any coverage. And you get fired just before you get there and then they call you back a few months later to rehire you and then fire you back just before coverage takes effect.

The same is happening here.

Companies hire you for a *probation* period, usually 3 months, in which time they don't provide any benefits. There is usually a promise of a wage increase after that probationary period also. They then fire the whole crew exactly 1 day before the 3 month probationary period is over, then a week later you see an ad in the paper for the same company and the same jobs. If there isn't already, there should be a law against this hiring/firing practice.
