He, being even more foolishly work-conscientiousness than I, and though experiencing a whole lot of strong symptoms overnight that should have dissuaded him, went to work in the morning. He was found collapsed under his desk (ciggy in one hand, lighter in the other). The doctor later told him that, ironically, if he'd done the right thing and stayed home (chucked a sickie), he'd certainly be dead.

Subsequent life-review occurred. Our relationship (and our acknowledgement to ourselves, each other, and eventually anyone else, of our sexuality) was the result.

It's all a rich tapestry.
