In ADE annotations aren't handwritten scribbles, but selected text (bookmarks) to which you can add typed text. Kind of like the notes you can add to a MS Office document. I don't have a Sony, but in the manual I can't find an option anywhere on how to export hand written notes to a computer. Can you do that in the Sony Library SW?

Yep... Just checked the Sony website. in version 3.1 of the Sony Library SW they have added "Enhanced functionality for Export Notes."

Update2: turns out you can only export Notes (i.e. bookmarks, highlights and markups). Which means you cannot export any handwritten text... From the Sony Lib. Help:

"You can export notes (bookmarks, highlights, and markups) and save as a file. You can then view or print the file, or attach it to e-mail.
Click (Notes) on the bottom of the Book page view.
The notes list appears. By default, all the notes are selected with check marks.
To export all notes, click (Export to file) above the notes list. To export only selected notes, uncheck the unnecessary notes, and click (Export to file).
The dialog box to specify the exporting location appears.
Specify the desired location in your computer and file name.
Selected notes in the notes list are exported and saved as a file in the specified location.
"

You could still take a snapshot of the Sony Library window, copy that to your favorite Image Editor and save the drawings as a bmp/png on your computer...
