Has anyone come across this problem?
I admit to being confused.

How do you know you can turn it on with the switch if it won't shutdown?

Does it go into sleep mode (screen blank number buttons inactive)?

On another thread they claimed to have success with a similar problem by formatting internal memory via the menu item (not via Windows) under advanced settings. This will clear out your books though. Give it a try.
