if it's not too late, you might want to reconsider. as an owner of the tx2 there are some serious limitations to using the tablet as a reader. the aforementioned weight is one issue but the heat generated from the tablet is unbearable. the option to read on the tablet was my main consideration for getting the tx2 but i am now in the market for an iPad. reading scientific pdfs is my main job (genomic research) and reading on the tx2 is mostly done at the desk because of the heat and weight. my suggestion would be, get a nice traditional desktop and supplement it with an iPad with the money saved. just my 2 cents.
