I visited Sydney in 1969 and at the time it seemed like they spoke English, but from what montsnmag says, if I went back today, I would need a translator. Only a handful of these words made any sense to me.

Boardies. Boardies are any group of people who are board. (See attached thumbnail.) Also refers to Internet sites where people post messages.

Brickie. Brickies are used to build housies to live in.

Chrissie. What Australians say when they hit their thumb with a hammer.

Cockie. No comment on a family boardie.

Cozzie. A common contraction. Ex.: He didn’t pass the class cozzie stupid.
