True, but Apple did not have a bookstore or sell books when that was approved so had no reason to deny it. It still will not (maybe?) for the iPod and iPhone but WILL have a competing bookstore for the iPad. That is clearly the same or similar to the "duplicate functionality" that has caused them to deny other apps.

Huh? You must be using some definition of duplicate functionality I have not heard of! iBook reads and sells books, Kindle app reads and sells books, How is that not duplicate?

Also think about this: It is the opinion of most experts that the Apple books will (because of their deal with publishers) be more expensive than Kindle books (although some Kindle books are getting more spendy for the same reason). If you owned a bookstore, would you let your cheaper competitor open another store inside yours? Because that is what Apple would be doing.

We shall see and I hope I am wrong.
