Makes sense to me. I read the iPhone for hours on end with no strain on my eyes. Reading in bed is MUCH better with my iPhone than reading physical books -- so I doubt an eInk reader would be better.
Sure, reading outside in broad daylight -- a book or eInk screen is better than an lcd. But that's not where I do most of my reading.
