When it comes to cooking, we don't get enough American cuisine in our popular media down this way. It's always annoying, because the regional varieties (and sometimes relative weirdness) definitely demand a look-see.

It's kind of an important aside though. Peanuts in savoury food is not at all unusual. Satay sauce and
gada-gado (and my
laksa) wouldn't be the same without it.

Isn't that part of the French food philosophy too (eg. to use every part of the animal)? It's probably a universal law - if you can keep it down, and it doesn't kill you, it's food.
