Happened to think of this just now. The setup (for those unfortunate enough to have never seen NewsRadio): Businessman writes book. Book does poorly in the US. Book translated to Japanese, sold in Japan. Book popular in Japan. Japanese translation translated back to English, published in US. (This was aired during the Japanese bubble economy, when paying attention to Japanese business practices was a Big Thing in the US.)
