It looks about half way between Jasper (the Rockies) and Edmonton (the Capital) on the main northern highway between BC and Alberta. I must have driven through it 3 times but I can't say as I remember it at all. The winters are probably a tad harsh but there's no provincial sales tax in Alberta. It looks to be a resource based economy with lumber, mines and oil/natural gas. It should be a decent place to live. Dunno.
I have two nephews that moved to Edmonton from Vancouver Island to find work. About the same distance and latitude on the other side of Edmonton is where my grandfather homesteaded in Saskatchewan.
