Right that is why I called it a 2-for-1 because you have to pay the full price of the first book to get the second book free. You will notice there is no additional charges on your CC for the second book

And your right it doesn't feel like it's a 50% discount especially if your interested in only one book. What I started doing is putting books I really want in my wish list. Then buy both books back to back to make it feel like I'm getting my rebates.
But I'm total with you here, I'd rather get 50% right of the top than have to use micropay rebates to redeem a 2nd book.
