you're right, that is the obvious solution.

The Muffin Man also recommends potato-leek soup. (It's rather funny, actually-- he doesn't even eat soup. But the girls and I like it, so he makes it for us. )

The recipe for potato-leek soup is evidently very much like the carrot-ginger recipe.

As for trebuchet travel... perhaps frozen into a block? Would it thaw out during re-entry? (Would that be a good thing?)
perfect, it travels intact and arrives hot !

Bring to the boil, turn the heat to low and simmer for an hour. Then liquidise. If the soup is thick then stir in some milk, which adds a certain creaminess to the end product.
that's more or less how i would *usually* make potato and leek soup. this week, however, my recipe is more along the lines of "go into kitchen. cut open brick of pre-made potato soupe with scissors. pour some into bowl. heat in microwave, but not too hot. eat with tiny doll spoon (it's better than eating from the end of a knife, like i had to do the first 2 or 3 days)."

anyway, it's lunch time so i think i'll go "cook" something now.
