BAH!!!! when it rains it pours! power just came back on after a 6 hour outage from high winds. last night my range blew again for the 2nd time since I've been back from CA. it's quite frightening as it goes

and then a bit of smoke comes up. I had to go out and buy a little one burner electric hotplate as it will be this weekend before I can get into it. it takes two people to get it out of the countertop.
my mother in law has called me everyday since my father in law's death being extremely upset about various things which I can understand, but the last 3 times it's been about money claiming that somewhere in excess of 500K seems to be missing. not sure what I'm supposed to do other than giver her emotional support.
in a possibly very tacky move I have asked to have the K2 back that I gave the father in law for Christmas. the mother in law agreed even though she indicated she wouldn't mind having it. anyway, yesterday a book was bought on it. it seems that the guy who was his sort of business partner was helping himself to it. he was certainly shocked when I called telling him a charge had gone through. I cheerfully told him I didn't mind him using it until someone could pick it up, but that all of those charges came to me. it irks me pretty seriously to think that he is going through my father in law's stuff and helping himself to the use of things
