Tom, glad you enjoyed the unusual buildings. Purple houses are quite rare; there is a nice one that I pass sometimes when driving. It definitely stands out and I find it rather appealing, artistic and full of character. It is a quirky old cottage style home with tin roofing and the front garden has a crowded and colorful abundance of plants and flowers. It has a magical certain something about it!
You are lucky to have such special memories of your grandfather. That mini-river in the railings of the porch that he created seems a fascinating idea.
